Hands on math! (Rekenrek)
For the last 9 weeks of school my students have created a rekenrek up to the number 20. In the BOY we made braceletes up to 10, howeve, now they are ready for ten more! And we created
a rekenrek out of paper plates found in the dollar store as well as the beads and pipe cleaners! All for less than $4!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching elementary school for the past three years. At the beginning of my career, I took on a 1st grade regular classroom in a title1 school. That year was a tough one! I was hired the weekend before the 1st day of school and the year went by in a blur..however there where those "never ending" moments too! On my second year, I was still in first, but I had passed my bilingual certification test in the fall. And I was super excited to finally get that under my belt. Half way through my second year, I was unexpectedly moved to a bilingual Kindergarten classroom..and it was quite the experience, but I fell IN LOVE WITH KINDER! This fall will be my 3rd year teaching and starting for the first time Kindergarten, I will definitely need some guidance from anyone since all the veteran teachers in Kinder bilingual left! Well that's my mini story. :)
MY TEACHING STYLE
I love using centers, guided reading and small groups in my classroom. It provides me with the opportunity to differentiate and work with a smaller group of students to help them be strong learners.
